History:
The Stingray body style was first introduced in 1963 and continued thru the 1967 model year. The 1965 model was perhaps the transition year for this body style in that it was the first year for disc brakes, first year for the "big block" 396 cubic inch V8 motor, first year for side exhaust, first year for the teak steering wheel, and the last year for fuel injected motors. "Fuely" Corvettes have become somewhat of a legend and remain today a sought after car for collectors and enthusiasts. There were only 771 Fuel Injected Corvettes produced in 1965 and by then the 327 cubic inch motor was rated at 375 HP. The L84 Rochester Fuel Injection option was $526.60 which in 1965 was considered pricey. Zora Duntov really liked the Fuel Injection cars as they were light in weight and had a lot of horsepower to make handling on a road course very competitive. This Silver Pearl coupe was built in November 1964. The body was produced in the AO Smith factory on 29 September 1964. Final construction was delayed due to a strike in October 1964.

Options: There are quite a few options on this car that in today's market are valuable not only from a resale point of view but just as parts for sale to other collectors. Based on ads in the Corvette NCRS Driveline and Hemmings Motor News, the options would be valued as follows:

Kelsey Hayes knock off wheels set of 5. Restored: $10,000
Fuel Injection unit, restored, with distributor: $12,000
Air cleaner assembly for a FI car: $3500
Teak Steering wheel: $1000
Side Pipes: $2000
Power Brake master cylinder and booster: $1500

Matching the numbers: Most of the "numbers" on the car are correct. The parts that I know are replacements are as follows:

Starter motor. I do have a correct date coded starter ready to be restored.
Water pump. Restored units are readily available.
Radiator. I have a brass radiator replacement and it should be aluminum. Exact reproductions are available
Front "clip" is a one piece replacement unit. The originals were press molded and consisted of 13 sections bonded together with strips of fiberglass. Functionally what is on the car is fine.

Here's a video walk-around of the car.
