1985 Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole

Ferrari introduced the 308 Quattrovalvole in 1982. Adding, as its name suggests, a newly designed head with four valves per cylinder, restoring power output to levels not seen since North American regulations brought about the demise of the Weber carburetor equipped cars of the late 70s. Furthermore, 16-inch Speedline wheels could now be ordered. These larger diameter five-spoke alloys measured 7 and 8 inches wide front to back. Although interior design was now heading into the digital era, the 308 Quattrovalvole retained the same classic layout used on earlier cars, including the jewelry-like chrome levers which were unfortunately replaced with plastic GM switches for the following 328 series of cars. The 308 QV regained the earlier cars popularity, and ushered in drivability and build quality improvements to make it arguably the best 308 of all, and remained unchanged until its final year of production, with the exception of Zincrox coating being applied to the steel panels for increased corrosion protection from January 1984.

From new, the Ferrari has been meticulously cared for, routinely serviced, and always garaged when not being enjoyed on sunny California backroads. In preparation for its next caretaker, the 308 has received a major 30K-mile mechanical Service by marque expert Juan Villareal, of Grand Prix Motors in Campbell, California. No system was left untouched, which has resulted in a Ferrari that is in need of nothing to be fully enjoyed for years to come. In addition to the major Service, the suspension was replaced to meet European specification ride-height, for a more aesthetically pleasing stance, and the entire car has been treated to a concours-level detail, including polishing the Rosso Corsa paint to a mirror-like finish, to ensure the 308 is ready to display on any show lawn upon delivery.
