These are absolutely fantastic automobiles, and in our opinion, Mercedes-Benz really got it right with this generation. The combination of power, comfort, build quality, and driving characteristics is truly remarkable. These cars drive beautifully, with plenty of power from the 4.5-liter V8 engine and a level of refinement that was exceptional for its era. Even by today's standards, they are wonderful automobiles that are more than capable of keeping up with modern traffic.
This particular example is a longtime California car that belongs to one of our longtime customers. It has always been very well maintained and has never suffered from rust or accident damage. It is a very honest, well-preserved example that presents beautifully.
The interior is especially impressive. The dashboard is in beautiful condition, and the original wood trim is gorgeous. The car retains its original leather upholstery, which is still very presentable, although there is some cracking visible in the photographs. We actually appreciate seeing original interiors like this, as they give a car a level of character and authenticity that is difficult to duplicate. The carpets are beautiful, and everything has a wonderful, well-cared-for feel.
Another huge bonus is that **the factory air conditioning blows cold**, something you rarely find in a Mercedes-Benz of this vintage.
